| Meet Maggie Wilde, a special lady helping others to find the happiness factor in their lives. |
 |
We would all like to be wildly happy and to know the secrets to experiencing this. We’d all like to be more masterful at generating our own happiness and sustaining it. Well Maggie Wilde’s website wildlyhappy.com.au provides free literature and tools to guide you on your way. It includes workshops, the happy shop and a range of gifts. It is a site that inspires and assists. So what led Maggie to create such a site and how did she gain the steps to finding joy – through pain.
When you look into Maggie’s eyes you can’t help but notice the depth of clarity and compassion within them. This depth can only come from personal experience and having survived the journey that brings you out the other side.
Maggie was a successful editor for a well being magazine, when in her late 20’s and early 30’s she developed severe depression. So encompassing was this depression that Maggie even thought about ending her life on many occasions throughout those years.
Desperate to find some respite from this turmoil and to reach some understanding of why it was happening, Maggie decided to study psychology.
While studying psychology, Maggie discovered hypnosis. She immediately felt drawn to it and used self-hypnosis to release herself from the beliefs and patterns that had been triggered from childhood issues. With the combination of psychology and hypnosis Maggie overcame the depression that had bound her so tightly. And although she did not know it at the time, it was to be the beginning of a wonderful partnership and an eventual new career.
After her depression Maggie continued in the corporate world and then went into business. However neither of these careers brought her fulfilment. Eventually Maggie took a huge leap of faith and opened her first clinic. Helping others by focusing on the psychology of the mind and the processes of hypnosis was to bring her the fulfilment she desired.
The clinic and Maggie’s life progressed well until two years ago when another challenging lesson was to come her way. Maggie became seriously ill. She spent three weeks in a coma, had a stroke, developed poisoning and came close to death four times. Her family was told to prepare for the worst. Through all of this, Maggie’s main thought was ‘this is my test. Now is the time to use all that I have been teaching others to heal myself.’ And she did. It took six months of rehabilitation to relearn such fundamental skills as walking and talking. It was an arduous and painstaking journey. Her amazing recovery was due to her strong spirit, a positive belief that she could heal and her expertise in hypnosis.
Maggie laughingly says that the only thing she still has trouble with now is tying her shoe laces. But she has no trouble running three successful clinics in Brisbane, Buderim and Gympie as well as teaching other practitioners hypnosis and EFT. She has no trouble helping clients overcome everything from addictions to sexual abuse. And she has no trouble sharing her accumulated wealth of knowledge and experience with others as she has done through her website.
Maggie considers herself to be part of the ripple effect – by guiding clients in her clinics, by teaching others her techniques and by assisting people to help themselves, she is bringing more joy and happiness to the world. It is remarkable that her pain produced such a gift!
