Featured Business Question and Answers: |
| What three words would describe your business best? One word will cover it all- Challenging |
| |
| What do you love about the business
The whole technology platform is what I love, you can do just about anything with a computer, you can build fun multi media play toys to military grade security systems. To me, technology is just so interesting, the possibilities are endless. |
|
|
| |
| What don’t you like
The lack of industry standards, in time they will come but for now the whole IT industry is filled with back-yard cowboys. It is hard when you are trying to educate end users about the whole IT world and you have supposed IT experts ripping clients off and basically giving the whole industry a bad name. |
| |
| What is your grandest vision for the business
Having Megabits stores all over Australia to develop affordable, custom built software that suits individual business need, image not having to buy a whole software suite, you can just get just the tools you need built for your business. |
| |
| Is there any other business you would like to be in if you could
Heaps!!!! I think flying helicopters would be great, I can see myself going down the road of economics/finance, I also would like a career in art/history... The list is quite long of all the things I want to do, just hope I live a long time to do them all. |
| |
| What one thing has added to your success in business
Getting my name out there. I have found the best advertising for my business is me. I confess I am a girl geek, I LOVE what I do, and I am very enthusiastic about IT.
Meeting people who know people and forming strategic alliances with other IT firms, means we can take on the bigger contracts and have the resources to support those contracts.
2009 holds some really big contracts for Megabits, all the result of networking and strategic alliances formed in 2008. |
| |
| What advice would you give to someone just starting out Be prepared to work your butt off... What is that old saying genius is 1% inspiration 99% perspiration. But eventually the hard work does pay off |
| |
| Who do you admire in the business world
Richard Branson. Bill and Melinda Gates (post Microsoft) |
|
|
| What would you love your customers to know about your business That we really do care. It is an old cliche but nothing gives me greater joy than watching a person face light up when they just get it.
Watching a person go from being complete beginners to actually knowing how to get around a computer or the internet, is just too cool for words. My greatest fun is teaching the older generation how to use google at Kawana Library, it gives me such a kick seeing 70 plus people googling fishing tips and travel ideas. |
