Featured Business Question and Answers: |
| What three words would describe your business best? FESTIVE, FUN, ENTERTAINING, BAZAAR, (sorry had to use 4) |
| |
| What do you love about the business?
Sense of community, bringing people together in a communal place, offering an interactive social, entertaining event for all ages, and enabling people to network within their local community, whilst being entertained by local artisans, and performers.
? Also, to provide a showcase for entertainers and musicians, offering opportunity and working with creative and like-minded people, and of course; the people that I meet.
|
|
|
| |
| What don’t you like?
The hours involved, but it’s worth it! |
| |
| What is your grandest vision for the business?
To continue to create themed market events for all to enjoy in a festive fun atmosphere. To educate locals to shop local. To broaden the vision of those that shop in the ‘super shopping centres’ by offering them an uplifting shopping experience. To support the local economy by shopping locally….create a regular outing with a focus on good food, enjoyment, and quality shopping. Offer opportunities and personal growth for new stallholders and businesses; create additional community networking and information sharing. Provide community groups with opportunities to raise awareness. Continued support for local emerging artists…and the list goes on…. |
| |
| Is there any other business you would like to be in if you could?
Some years ago I was travelling and working on private charter yachts, and eventually on our own yacht whilst cruising the Caribbean. The work involved looking after guests, tour guiding them to local attractions, cultural events, markets and festivals. This was more a way of life, working just happened to be a part of it, and fortunately earned a reasonable income. I would like to involve work and travel again in a similar industry, maybe just working closer to the ocean, and with travellers and holidaymakers. |
| |
| What one thing has added to your success in business?
Completing a business management course and completing a detailed business and financial plan.
|
| |
| What advice would you give to someone just starting out? That it’s not easy, and sacrifices have to be made…..but if it’s your passion, then you must go with it. Go after your goals and stick with your ideals, follow your instinct, stay focused, and don’t give the wrong impression, eventually the dollars will follow. |
| |
| Who do you admire in the business world?
People that make a positive difference, people that ‘do’ what they say and get the job done. Optimists and activists. |
|
|
| What would you love your customers to know about your business? Customers is a not a word I use for my business, I would use the words stallholders, entertainers, performers, musicians….and I suppose the public in general.
? That I am passionate and professional whilst working on markets and events; and engage local stallholders and artists to participate. I create stimulating events for people to enjoy, are visually appealing and an environment with a positive vibe and atmosphere that attending patrons love to become part of and will come back for more.
