Featured Artist Question and Answers: |
| Describe your unique style of art? My current range of Mayan based sculptural reliefs is a blend of beautiful designs and spiritual awakening.

| What motivated you to start sculpting?
A dissatisfaction with the job I had at the time and a persistent ‘yearning’ to create something beautiful….sometimes so strong it was like a burning sensation in my chest! |

| How do you evolve your sculpting? I follow my inspiration and try not to think too much!

| |
| What has been your greatest challenge?
Letting go of an attachment to money and extracting myself from my job. Along the way, this has meant recognising and changing my tendency to operate from a position of scarcity and fear of loss to something much more empowered. |

| What gives you the most satisfaction from doing your art?
Seeing someone else fall in love with it.
Also, that moment of clarity when a person connects with my art and it’s message…the walls come down and some awareness is gained. Being a part of that is very satisfying.

| How is your spirit expressed in your art?
I’m not sure “how” but I do know that if I feel ignited and am enjoying the creation of an artwork then somehow, something of the spirit or essence of me is injected into the project and felt by others. |

| What have you learnt about yourself through your art?
That I am less complicated than I thought!

| What piece of advice would you give to someone just starting out?
Follow your intuition and inspiration, don’t get too caught up in the “hows, whys and wherefores”. Don’t take on other people’s doubts and fears, listen to your heart and follow it…even if it doesn’t make sense at the time. Just decide, go into action and prepare to be amazed by what comes next! |
