Featured Artist Question and Answers: |
| How long have you been painting? Since the beginning of 2000, so almost 10 years. |
| |
| How have you developed your skill in this area?
I was very lucky to hang out with a friend/artist for one day a week for several years at the beginning, he taught me from scratch how to paint, for which I will always be grateful. |

| Who or what has been a major inspiration/influence in your painting? I love painting women… I was specifically drawn to figurative painting and love many of the artists who specialised in this area … Klimt, Modigliani, Picasso, Matisse to name a few.

| What do you hope to give with your art?
A feeling of joy, and lightness of spirit, a warm heart. |

| What do you get from your art?
I get great satisfaction from getting in the flow of a painting and seeing it come to life, and even greater is the knowledge that someone loved it so much they have taken it into their heart and home.

| What has been your greatest moment with your painting?
Finding out my first solo exhibition had sold out, with commissions following. That was truly amazing. |

| Where would you like to take your art?
I would love to take my art further afield; even a fine bone china tea set would be fabulous! Journals |

| What would you say to someone who is interested in taking up painting?
Paint because you love it and find somewhere or someone who might show you some tips… but most of all have fun.

| What part of your spirit adds to your success as an artist? My desire for happiness and harmony. |

Annette Sym, Melissa Schembri, Raelene Byrne, Oprah, … to name only a few! |

| Is there anything else you would like to let us know about you? In 2010 I am looking forward to opening up to new opportunities with moving into a purpose built studio at my home… maybe even some classes or gatherings are on the horizon. And a stationery range would be another desire for me to achieve. I am about to launch my third solo exhibition "A Golden Thread" beginning Sunday 8th November 2009, at Tiffany Jones Fine Art Gallery, in Buderim. The new series of acrylics on canvas portray blissful floating women draped in shimmering gold and jewel coloured gowns set against intricately patterned backgrounds.
