Featured Artist Question and Answers: |
| How long have you been painting? When I was 7 or 8 my grandfather used to encourage me
alot but then I did not pick up another brush till about 10 years ago.
|

| How have you developed your art?
Mainly through the use of different styles colours and surfaces and being
willling to change to what people like. Art can be expressive but it is also
in my case an outlet that allows people the opportunity to select the colours and designs that meet their needs, not just what I like.I have had people ask me to
do paintings that were a challenge and this has been an inspiration for me but also developmental in the way I change my artwork.

| Who or what has been a major inspiration/influence in your art? Travelling Australia with my family and in particular the more remote parts, the richness of colour and diversity of landscape awakened something in me that I felt a need to express.

| What do you hope to give with your painting?
The opportunity for people to bring colour and some of their own personality into their homes as part of their decor.

| What do you get from painting?
Joy, a calmness of mind, the thrill & humbleness of others admiring my artwork enough to want to have it in their homes.

| What has been your greatest moment with your art?
I have had a few great moments but two that really stand out are that my boys still like my first ever painting best and one of the boys has it hanging in his room.
The other was when I was commissioned to do a series of paintings for an apartment building here on the coast. This gave me a great sense of satisfaction and also the opportunity to go to Tuscany for my nieces wedding.

| Where would you like to take your art?
I hope one day to have more time to paint more of the magnificent colours of our amazing continent. |

| What would you say to someone who is interested in taking up painting?
Go for it!!!!

| What part of your spirit adds to your success as an artist? The part of my spirit that gives me sight to enjoy and appreciate all the colours and patterns of nature. |

| Who do you know is a ‘spirited’ woman?
My friend and walking partner, Rosemarie, is an inspiration, just for the way she grabs life with both hands and enjoys the diversity and challenge of every new pathway. |

| Is there anything else you would like to let us know about you?I love to paint it gives me the chance to do what I enjoy I feel that I am fortunate to be able to do this but as with all things you have to work hard and be willing to change.I enjoy friends, family, meeting new people and markets, so by all means come visit me every Sunday at Cotton Tree Markets right here on the Sunshine Coast. |
